Come join our dynamic team of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) professionals! Raytheon has an opportunity for an energetic, motivated, and self-directed Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Professional to support our ongoing sustainability, compliance, and risk reduction efforts at the Andover, MA site. This complex manufacturing site offers the EHS professional an opportunity to work with manufacturing and support teams to foster employee engagement, and drive risk reduction and continuous improvement of the EH&S program.

What You Will Do

  • Recognizing, evaluating, and controlling hazardous workplace conditions.

  • Taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and health of site employees and influencing safe behaviors.

  • Working with subject matter experts to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company EHS requirements.

  • Investigating, analyzing, and interpreting data from injuries and near-misses ensuring corrective actions are completed on time, and all necessary documentation is in place.

  • Interact with employees and promote relationships, learn the tasks employees perform and be known as a resource to the employees at the site. Work toward building partnerships and influencing across assigned areas to provide actionable improvement programs.

  • Support the site’s environmental compliance programs, including, but not limited to, hazardous waste management, stormwater and ground-water protection plans, air quality permitting, wastewater, and toxic chemical reporting.

  • Develop and implement sustainability practices and programs related to waste, water, and greenhouse gases in alignment with our long-term goals.

  • Manage data and reporting related to sustainability programs.

  • Identify environmental risk and complete due diligence; investigate root cause for environmental incidents.

  • Audit and evaluate current policies, procedures, and documentation to assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Position requires limited travel for participation in company seminars, EHS audits and training opportunities.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a university degree with 5 years applicable EH&S experience, or a Master’s degree with 3 years applicable EH&S experience. Required education (including major): BS/BA degree in Safety, Environmental, EH&S (preferred) Engineering, Science, or Mathematics or other related field of study.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Demonstrated experience in environmental compliance including RCRA, stormwater pollution prevention, etc. and in sustainability programs.

  • Experience in managing EH&S issues in a union work environment.

  • Previous experience working at an OSHA VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) site.

  • Professional Certification in the EHS field (ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.).

  • Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
