About the Role:

Our team is looking to hire a Production Manager to work in our chemical (batch processing) manufacturing plant in Ashland, VA during a M-F day shift with the expectation of leading hands on, on the floor majority of the time.

This role oversees the production process and directly manages a staff of 10 operators championing associate development and engagement. We are seeking a leader who is focused on leading and executing on daily work and will be accountable for the results.

This is an exciting time to join our operation championing safety and quality. You will also support our continuous improvement efforts through Standard Work, Problem-Solving Process, and Kaizen event suggestions and participation. Day to day:

  • Owns Production KPI daily management, continual improvement, and problem solving efforts, leading as a change agent for the evolving manufacturing process

  • Develops the 1 to 5 Year Capital Appropriations Plan; oversees project management; develops plant expansion needs to match operations growth

  • Manages Inventory control process and Cycle Counting

  • Identifies and properly handles hazardous materials/waste

  • Acts as Onsite Emergency Coordinator and Liaison to Emergency Response Providers (Fire, Medical and Environmental Agencies)

  • Assists in the development of the annual operations budget; identifying capital and facility maintenance costs; and identifying/implementing cost minimization practices

  • Ensures compliance with standard operating procedures; improve employee job skills; provide specialized training and seminars

  • Enforces policy; maintain documentation; and ensure compliance with EMS (ISO14001), HSMS, and QMS (ISO 9001), work with Compliance Conformance Manager and associated staffs

  • Assists with Recruitment, Hiring, Staffing

  • Participates in corrective and preventative action practices as it relates to product quality

  • Fields customer/sales inquiries; resolves customer/sales issues

Are you qualified?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required

  • 2 - 5 years of Industrial Management/Supervisory Experience in plant operations with demonstrated experience developing and engaging team members required

  • Lean Manufacturing Experience required

  • QMS (Quality Management System) experience required

  • EMS (Environmental Management System) experience required

  • Experience in inventory management required

  • 29 CFR OSHA; 49 CFR DOT; IATA Certified; CDL preferred

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $90,000 - $105,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
