Inventory Control Specialist

B&B Roadway and Security Solutions, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for an Inventory Control Specialist in our Russellville, AL location. This position will lead and coordinate engineering team. Evaluate and resolves technical feasibility, design optimization and production issues with existing products.

What you will be doing:

Monitor, maintain, update, investigate, and analyze inventory records, perform inventory related projects, and provide information to management that will assist them in making decisions concerning inventory balances, inventory control processes, and process improvements related to inventory. Have a lead role in setting up and administrating cycle counts for Raw and component goods. Validate and improve inventory accuracy and controls. Reconcile work order related issues.

Job Duties & Requirements:

• Develop, implement, and monitor all key functions related to inventory transactions to assure that they are accurate and timely.

• Perform cycle counts of all assigned areas and selected inventory items on a regular basis. Compare actual counts to perpetual inventory records. Make system entries or corrections as required to correct inventory records. Document and issue results of those cycle counts, publishing corrective action plans as appropriate. Work directly with personnel whose actions or inaction results in inventory errors. Provide direction to those personnel on how to correctly record, report, or account for the affected inventory items.

• Coordinate the cycle count progress and results to identify necessary recounts and processes to be monitored and provide regular reports on the results.

• Coordinate the efforts of the cycle counts to identify and correct discrepancies on items at the location level as needed.

• Perform thorough research and document inventory discrepancies using all available resources to identify root causes and supply possible solutions.

• Work with key personnel to effectively implement process improvements to operational procedures to proactively optimize overall location and item level accuracy and maintain the highest possible productivity levels.

• Monitor and Control inventory integrity.

• Research inventory discrepancies and reconcile them.

• Document damaged product. Track and report non-conforming product.

• Perform daily, weekly and/or monthly reports to find work order errors, negative on hand inventory and location errors. Perform transactions to correct these errors.

The skills and experience you need:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Knowledge of production processes, raw materials, and material flows.

  • At least Two (2) years in MRP or ERP manufacturing environment

  • Excellent understanding of inventory management and control in a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of production processes, raw materials, and material flows.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.

  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills

  • Able to work on own initiative without immediate supervision.

  • Able to easily communicate with and influence people.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal - including presentation)
