Job Summary:

Raytheon’s Legal, Contracts and Compliance organization is excited to announce that we are recruiting a Director and Senior Counsel, Strategy & Development reporting to the Executive Director and General Counsel, Strategy & International. This role is critical to the achievement of Raytheon business objectives and to the mission of its Legal, Contracts and Compliance organization.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Life-cycle legal support for strategic initiatives driven by Raytheon's strategy and corporate development organization.

  • Review, draft, negotiate and advise on a broad range of strategic transactions.

  • Partner with frontline business leaders and support and lead cross-functional / cross-discipline teams in the structuring and implementation of strategic initiatives and transactions.

  • Demonstrate sensitivity to and robust awareness of a range of specialized matters of critical importance to Raytheon and RTX, including intellectual property, global trade, ethics and anti-corruption, supply chain / procurement processes, and data privacy law.

  • Provide ongoing advice and counsel in connection with post-transaction matters.

  • Provide regulatory / Antitrust compliance advice and counsel in connection with a wide range of strategic activities, initiatives and transactions.

  • Coordinate and / or provide regulatory compliance training and guidance to business teams operating on the front lines of the business.

  • Consult with and / or lead outside counsel engagements on a range of transactional and regulatory matters, when and as needed.

  • Provide business unit level support for transactional and regulatory activities led by RTX’s corporate office.

  • Exercise highest ethical standards and champion commitment to organizational integrity.

  • Periodic moderate travel will be required.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Law degree (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.

  • Typically requires a cumulative 12 years of prior relevant experience in supporting complex business transactional and regulatory matters.

  • Experience analyzing, negotiating, drafting and advising on a wide range of legal, commercial and / or operational issues and considerations.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to quickly understand, converse, and engage on a wide range of commercial and operational issues and considerations.

  • Excellent interpersonal and executive-level communication and writing skills.

  • Ability to engage enthusiastically and collaboratively with stakeholders and contributors from multiple levels of the organization, and to foster positive working relationships with peers, internal clients, and external customers.

  • Ability to learn quickly, influence senior leadership, and work independently.

  • Great leadership skills, sound judgment, and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Proactive with strong intrinsic motivation and high degree of ownership.

  • Well-organized, with strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage a high-volume workload (multiple projects at once, progressing matters to timely conclusion).

  • Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Clearance Information: This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
