We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II with focus in process control & industrial engineering to join our team. This role will drive the implementation of World Class Lean Manufacturing Processes, systems and equipment, focusing on safety, quality, and throughput improvements throughout the product Value Stream. Incumbent will be responsible for factory infrastructure execution and process control to supplement process automation including but not limited to factory layout, DFT processes, capacity analysis, Kaizen events, time studies and process change management.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Support production capacity growth at Nuvera through scale up and expansion of Manufacturing capabilities, technology deployment, process controls and industrial footprint optimization.
Support change control processes and validation of new processes
Design and implement flexible processes to provide factory process controls, maximize Demand Flow Technology (DFT) methods, and supplement automation equipment to maximize production performance.
Support DFM/DFA manufacturing engineering activities for New Products and provide expertise in process control for both low and high volume manufacturing flow techniques and their implementation into Nuvera designs and methods.
Optimize production quality and throughput using the following tools: Value Stream Map, Kaizen events, Cell Layout, Process control planning, SOPs, and performance metrics on existing products and Lean Manufacturing and DFT.
Lead the factory performance data analytics and reporting dashboard methods to provide visual process controls enabling real time factory performance feedback and effective continuous improvement.
Support planning and execution for future factory deployments contributing to scalable processes, layout, infrastructure and controls play book to enable local scale up capability to future contracts.
Required Job Qualifications (unless otherwise noted):
Educational Background
- BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering required
Previous Work Experience
3+ years of Automotive, Medical or other relevant industry experience
2+ years directly supporting Factory Operations and in the application of Lean Manufacturing tools
Demonstrated experience in change control and validation activities
Experience with automated data collection and dashboards and/or automated assembly equipment desired but not required
Special Skills, Experience and Abilities
Well-versed in managing engineering changes through manufacturing
Competent in process and product validation data collection methodologies
Industrial process and layout development, set up and commissioning of new Production lines for electromechanical products
Skilled in the use of DFT or other Lean tools Hands-on experience supporting Production Operations required
Creation and optimization of product line flow and use of lean techniques
Demonstrated successes in leading projects to drive process optimization for quality improvement or cycle time reduction
Understanding of Manufacturing documentation and ISO 9000 requirements, configuration management and product structures including BOM
Working knowledge of Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and Visio
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with multiple and changing priorities
Ability to work and communicate effectively
Physical requirements/Work environment
25% Shop-floor and laboratory work environment, 75% office environment
Ability to lift components weighing up to 35 lbs. is required.
May be required to sit or stand for prolonged periods, as needed
Travel Required
