Example of Duties:

  • Receive, review and scan complaints sent to the assigned bureau; input appropriate information in database and assign to investigator/inspector as directed.

  • Prepare and mail acknowledgement letters, complaint referrals to other agencies, and case closure letters; update status notes in database.

  • Receive completed investigative files, scan, and update notes and investigators’/inspectors’ time on the case in database.

  • Respond to inquiries regarding investigative and disciplinary action processes; mail and e-mail pamphlets and complaint forms as requested.

  • Maintain contested case records for formal actions.

  • Work with Boards’ prosecutors and their support staff on formal actions.

Minimum Qualifications

Good knowledge of:

  • Office support functions including word processing, filing, composing a variety of business documents and reception.

  • Researching, compiling, and summarizing data for reports.

Experience:

  • Interpreting, applying and explaining complex information such as regulations, policies or services.

  • Independently solving problems/performing liaison activities in a work setting; coordinating activities requiring complex arrangements.

Preferred Qualifications

Some knowledge of

  • State government organization structure

    Good knowledge of

  • Legal terminology

  • Investigative procedures

    Experience

  • Composing official correspondence, reports, and other complex documents

  • Using Microsoft Access
