Position: Maintenance Specialist - BSPLocation: US - Big SandyExcellent Benefits: Medical, dental, vision and retirement savings (401k)Hours of work: Mondays - Fridays, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 40 Hours/Week - Work hours are typically Monday thru Friday, 7am-4pmThe Maintenance Specialist will dedicate his or her time and energy to improving the maintenance process. This includes managing the preventative maintenance system, leading the hourly work-force to function as a self-directed team, and utilizing predictive and preventative maintenance tools to safely and effectively support the operation. The Maintenance Specialist’s responsibilities include supporting Corporate Policies and Programs to manage the workforce. Examples include eTime, Behavior Based Safety Observations, Housekeeping Audits and cooperating with the Environmental, Safety, Process Engineers, and Facilities Engineers to implement new equipment and work practices to the plant. The Maintenance Specialist is responsible to assist the Maintenance Manager in leading the Maintenance Department. Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)* Improve equipment reliability by becoming the expert in populating and upkeeping the equipment information needed for PDCA . This input information will come from OEM manual, historical data, face to face discussions with the operators and technicians and research Criticality ranking b. Writing and updating PM plans c. Writing and reviewing maintenance procedures d. Gathering and organizing equipment inspection data e. Ranking and proposing spare part options for new and existing equipment f. Reviewing spare parts strategies once a year.* Establish an improvement target related to each PDCA effort so they can be prioritized a. OSF improvement b. Cost improvement c. Safety improvement d. Environmental implications* Assist maintenance manager in selecting a maintenance strategy for specific types of equipment and the rational for choosing a strategy a. Propose run-to-failure and why b. Propose PM and why c. Propose PdM and why* For PMs and PdM, establish a method for choosing time-based maintenance(TBM) vs condition based maintenance(CBM) a. Review all PMs and designate as TBM or CBM b. Evaluate new equipment for appropriate method* Assist maintenance manager in budgeting equipment recurring cost, life cycle and capital replacement expectations Administrative Understand equipment inspection methods Understand continuous improvement * Technical Duties / SupportContinually survey and know the condition of the equipment and infrastructurePlan all backlog work orders with man-hour estimates, materials required, and special tools, rentals, or special instructions. Build job-plans for repetitive tasksPlan work orders with environmental compliance / consequences in mindRead, understand, and comply with the equipment related portions of Title V, RCRA, Air Quality, Water Quality, and other environmental permits pertinent to the Reactivation OperationTroubleshoot equipment issues and provide technical support to the maintenance team Develop and track PM system and KPIsPlan and schedule maintenance work assignments to effectively maintain the assets' reliability and support production* Health, Safety, & EnvironmentalAbide by and enforce all plant safety/health/environmental policies, promote safety improvements, and strive for a safety perfect cultureConduct incident investigations on near misses, incidents, and accidentsExecute the corporate and plant safety programs including performing safety audits, incident investigations, PHAs, annual review of JSPs, etc.Manage safety performance of the maintenance team(s) including making sure they are using all work permits, LOTO, etc.Perform safe behavior observations and enforce safety policiesReview MOC for area of responsibility and ensure process / equipment changes are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible mannerServe as a model for working safely in the plant* ManagementAttend all daily communications meetings to coordinate the maintenance effort with production needsAttend and contribute to T/A planning and review meetings
