Martin Bros. Distributing, a leader in the wholesale foodservice industry, is seeking a Systems Engineer within our IT Operations team. In this role, you will focus on the data center environment, campus network hardware, and configuration management/automation.

Engineer a reliable, scalable, and performance core infrastructure to power the needs of other technology teams and the organization.
Work closely with industry leading solutions providers to ensure the core infrastructure of Martin Bros is properly positions for the short and long terms needs of the business.
Work closely with other technology teams to ensure upcoming requirements are clearly understood and can be effectively met.
Monitor the performance for the infrastructure and respond to any deterioration of services.
Ensure all changes are well documented and complete a change control workflow before implementation.
Scale IT Infrastructure through configuration management and automation to support the growth of the organization.
Identify repetitive tasks and create automated solutions that can be used the administration and end point teams.
Utilize configuration management technology to easily identify and implement changes in configurations as needed.
Configure and maintain templates, scripts, and other tools as needed to quickly be able to provision server environments to meet the needs of other teams.
Participate as tier 2 in the help desk escalation chain.
Provide timely customer service as issues are escalated.
Communicate with systems administration to ensure understanding of the root cause of the issue and suggested resolutions.
Efficiently identify when to involve other engineers for further investigation when needed.
Job Duties:
Deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available, and fault tolerant systems in an AWS Cloud environment.
Collaborate as necessary to implement, update and test ongoing security improvements including regular and timely operating system patches, security patches/hardening and other application updates as necessary to all server infrastructure.
Perform, oversee, monitor, and ensure data security including regular backups, recovery, verification of security rights and other steps necessary to ensure data integrity.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, and other key systems/processes.
Perform administrative or engineering tasks for the key technologies listed above.
Automate end-user PC configuration through Intune policy management.
Enterprise network setup, administration, and troubleshooting
Manage data backup and recovery solutions.
Manage and monitor 0365 environments including mail flow and collaboration products such as email, SharePoint, Teams, and licensing.
Monitor servers for growth and usage trends. Perform long-term capacity planning in conjunction with other team members that would determine both hardware and software purchases.
Provide tier 2 technical assistance to users and support staff.
Assist with Disaster Recovery implementation and testing.
Assist the IT Manager in project definition, requirements documentation, and technical writing to support information systems business growth.
Provide after-hours support, including security & systems monitoring, on a rotating on-call basis.
Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents
Identify, record, document thoroughly and track issues that arise.
Collaborate with teams to clarify requirements and plans for execution.
Complete all assigned tasks within the specifications and timelines provided.
Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing tasks.
Monitor help desk issues, perform troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
