South Mountain Creamery is a dairy farm family: we bottle our own milk and make our own butter, yogurt, and ice cream. We brought the milkman back in 2001 and have been making home deliveries to the DMV area for 23 years and counting. We love what we do and know you will too!

We are currently hiring a Production Associate – Plastic Line Bottle Puller at the new South Mountain Creamery location in Chambersburg, PA.

Please note: this position reports to the Production Manager and is anticipated to work M-F, 6:30am – when we finish the job for the day.

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Interpret daily production schedules

• Read, comprehend, and follow standard operating procedures

• Safely operate and monitor equipment

• Ensure the Production area is clean, free of hazards, and running smoothly

• Ensure that the correct label is placed on the correct product

• Ensure that the correct product is placed in the correct box

• Make sure that the printer is set up correctly with the right date code, and product description

• Put the plastic filler together

• Help with tear down and cleaning the work area

• Complete end of day sanitation making sure the area is clean & prepped for the next day’s production

• May assist with documentation, recordkeeping, and reporting as required by law and/or regulatory agencies, (i.e. FDA, OSHA, USDA, etc.)

• Assist in other departments as necessary, and a ny other duties as assigned by management

  The right person has:

• Related experience is a plus, but not necessary for this position

• A High School Diploma or equivalent

• Basic math, reading skills computation, and paperwork completion are required

• The motivation to work in a team environment - safely

• A detail-oriented mindset

• The ability to work in a climate-controlled, refrigerated setting, and fast-paced environment while working safely and efficiently

• Intermittent lifting of roughly 40lbs from ground level to waist high using proper lifting techniques

• Bending and other physical tasks are required
