Insight Global Validation Technician in Chandler, Arizona

Job Description

Join the NXP RF Power Validation team that helps our 5G radio customers design world class 5G networks. This validation team is responsible for working directly with 5G cellular radio technology and supporting NXPs leading RF power amplifier and front end module solutions for cellular base station applications primarily for massive MIMO and 5G markets.

The validation team is responsible for characterizing and validate our products according to the customers specifications and use digital pre-distortion systems on our power amplifier modules to replicate the customers application. Majority of time is spent in the lab setting up RF benches, running internal automation software tools, taking measurements and, debugging benches.

The position requires working closely with internal design, product, modeling and packaging engineers

Skills and Requirements

· Two year degree in Electrical/electronic technician or engineering, minimum of 5 years experience

· Microwave measurement techniques

· Experience taking S-parameters, VNA calibration techniques

· Hand on experience using arbitrary signal generators, signal and spectrum analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, and lab amplifiers

· Knowledge and practice of bench calibration techniques

· Hands-on experience with board level tuning and optimization of matching networks.

· High level of experience and understanding of power amplifier, circuit linearization and high-efficiency design techniques.

· Ability to independently solve problems and generate IP as needed.

· Strong communication skills and ability to ability to work in teams.

· Testing and characterizing integrated RF power amplifier products for 5G and mMIMO wireless infrastructure markets using ARB signal generators, vector signal analyzers, VNAs and digital pre-distortion systems

· Design and prototype microstrip PCBs for product evaluation

· Ensure the product meets all customer requirements null
