In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our newer Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facility in Clayton, NC sits on 825,000 square-feet of state-of-the-art equipment, and houses the Fermentation, Recovery and Purification in the production of ingredients for Novo Nordisk’s innovative oral products. The Position
Develop, update, & maintain production process & utility capacity models & digital twins, including analyzing production schedule models, manning models & equipment utilization. Present capacity & modelling analysis & recommendations. Evaluate & provide input to investment projects to ensure the best solutions are implemented related to plant capacities.

Essential Functions
Develop new models, update & maintain production process & utility system digital twins
Collect & analyze process data from automation systems
Investigate opportunities of process improvement & optimization through the application of capacity, production planning & scheduling models
Identify system bottlenecks & de-bottlenecking solutions
Identify system capacity limitations
Create & Update production process manning models
Provide & present information regarding process capacities
Validate mathematical models with production data
Support investment project idea evaluations
Integrate changes, improvements, & projects into computational models
Support API & production support teams
Other accountabilities, as assigned
Physical Requirements
Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Ability to do close precision work with their hands. Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting and standing) 50% of the time. May required corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education & experience required
Minimum of two (2) years engineering experience in operation, design, process improvement, LEAN or Six Sigma certification preferred
Process &/or utilities equipment, API production processes, data analysis, mathematical modelling & scheduling software required
Process improvement & optimization, using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) required
Proven expertise in planning/organization/execution of engineering & analysis activities, following up on results preferred
Creating, leading, & executing work plans for complex problems being resolved by cross functional teams preferred
