Our client is seeking a Technician, Data Preparation I to join their team.

Job Title: Technician, Data Preparation I

Location: Columbia, SC (100% onsite role)

Job Type: 6 Months Contract to hire

Client: Blue Cross Blue Shield South Carolina

Shift timing: Monday-Friday, Start time anywhere between 7:30 AM - 9AM and an 8-hour work day

Training will be for 2 weeks

Job Description:

  • Performs routine but varied clerical duties in accordance with standard procedures.

  • This includes clerical duties such as photocopying, compiling records, filing, tabulating, posting information, and distributing mail.

  • Applies knowledge of department policies and procedures and utilizes a general understanding of other departments' functions.

  • Maintains records, prepares forms, verifies information and resolves routine problems.

  • 70% Sorts and distributes incoming departmental mail or work requests.

  • Checks workflow documents to ensure required information is available.

  • Requests any missing documentation as needed.

  • Scans, images and indexes documents.

  • Prepares correspondence or packages for internal/external mailing.

  • 15% Maintains departmental logs, spreadsheets or databases.

  • 10% Keeps track of supply inventory and/or orders supplies as needed.

  • 5% Assists other staff members in related duties as needed.
