TEKsystems IT Support Technician / Level 2 in Columbus, Indiana

Job Overview:

TEKsystems is seeking a skilled IT Support Tier II Specialist to join our team in Columbus, Indiana. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate IT support, with a focus on desktop and device management in a manufacturing setting. This role requires hands-on experience with SCCM, Active Directory, and Windows 10, along with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding customer service, resolving technical and non-technical issues via phone, email, and other communication channels.

  • Offer Level II support for infrastructure and desktop issues, aiding Level I staff in problem resolution.

  • Maintain and configure desktop management tools, manage software updates, patches, and IT asset management.

  • Deploy and configure client equipment for essential business functions, including file sharing, printing, and email services.

  • Potentially oversee a virtualized Windows server environment using VMware.

  • Understand and manage server and client OS operations, application deployment, and Active Directory functions.

  • Establish user accounts and passwords, adhering to security guidelines.

  • Lead and support IT project activities, manage software inventory, and mentor team members.

  • Work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and maintain documentation for problem resolution and knowledge base articles.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in Windows 10 environment

  • Expertise in Active Directory management

  • Experience with SCCM

  • Strong PC troubleshooting and imaging capabilities

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in IT support within a corporate and manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for a variety of devices, including laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.

  • Familiarity with niche applications and the ability to work with limited documentation.

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.

Work Environment: The role is based in an office setting within a manufacturing environment, collaborating with a dedicated IT team
