PACCAR Inc Section Manager Material & Logistics Reman SG 25 in Columbus, Mississippi

This is a job for a Section Manager Material & Logistics Reman position with a company located in Columbus, MS.

Job Summary: Section Manager Materials & Logistics ReMan in leading materials functions at the Remanufacturing facility including the demand planning and forecasting, material release from suppliers, material expediting and logistics operations (in-bound and out-bound), emergency buy, and MRO areas. Champion Just-In-Time / Lean material flow standards of the PACCAR Production System.

Duties: Develop guidelines and processes to ensure material availability, inventory turnover, final disposition, and other plant material goals are met. Facilitate continuous improvement activities within the materials organization. Responsibility for the surplus and obsolete accounts for the PACCAR ReManufacturing Facility. Coordinate with production, engineering, and manufacturing engineering to ensure that material related activities are completed and in place for new Remanufacturing project / program launches. Contact suppliers directly to ensure deliveries per schedule and quality meets PACCAR standards. Trains and supervises assigned staff. Identify needs and champion development / maintenance of the plant material information systems. Participate in technical evaluations of purchased items and/or new ReMan product introductions.

Qualifications & Skills required: B.S. Degree (preferred Industrial Engineer,or Similar). Three years experience on Warehouse Management. Experience with SAP or any other ERP / MRP System.

Desired: Strong industry knowledge of Materials Management and Lean Manufacturing best practices. Understanding of set-up and management of Just In-Time and Just In-Sequence inventory practices. Knowledge of Quality Systems and Processes. Strong demonstrated knowledge of Six-Sigma, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement concepts and experience leading continuous improvement projects. Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills. Ability to grasp and understand complex business processes from a high-level while being able to validate the processes at the detail level. Understanding of or experience in defining IT requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint. Experience with leadership and management of others. MBA Degree (or Similar). Understanding of or experience in defining IT. Experience coordinating a supply base including consolidation and logistics operations.
