POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Production Operator I/II, depending upon experience, will perform entry-level to mid-level activities that support PennEnergy Resources’ operations, production, well construction, drilling and completions activities.  This position is responsible for operating and maintaining wells, well sites, pipelines, compression sites, and other field-based locations.  This position is expected to work independently, address and resolve routine concerns and work with third party contractors.

  • Conduct routine checks on all well sites according to assigned schedule ensuring operations are running smoothly.

  • Monitor production equipment commonly utilized in both dry and/or wet gas fields.

  • Conduct inspections; use meter readings to identify and resolve issues, problems, and violations.  Escalate issues to Production Supervisor.

  • Follow all compliance, safety, and production processes.

  • Monitor daily fluid production, gauge and record oil and water tanks, record all seal records.

  • Responsible for performing procedures necessary to safely operate production equipment such as GPU’s, combustors, sand traps, meters, etc.

  • Maintain complete records and reports including daily activity logs, production reports, compressor readings, down time, maintenance reports, chemical usage, and pressure test records. 

  • Conduct inspection procedures for lease sites to ensure they are clean and well maintained.  Identify and report hazards, vandalism, and any at-risk behavior or situations by contractors.

  • Submit daily data and turn in all reports and tickets on a timely basis.

  • Provide relief pumping when needed.

  • Perform light maintenance on equipment.

  • Perform all duties per PennEnergy Resources’ production processes and complete all lease operator training in accordance with PennEnergy Resources’ Health, Environmental, and Safety Guidelines.

  • Participate in periodic well review meetings with Production Supervisor, Field Technicians, and Production Engineer to review and troubleshoot production problem areas.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure a machine is working properly

  • Knowledge of environmental and safety requirements and practices

  • Knowledge of oil and gas production equipment

  • Ability to solve minor mechanical problems and perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment

    BENEFICIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of standards and practices for design, construction, and maintenance of high-pressure horizontal wells

  • Well site construction and operations with emphasis on safety, environmental, and optimization

  • Experience with PA and/or OH regulatory requirements

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and data tracking software

    WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    This position is primarily based in the field (e.g., at drilling and well sites) with the occasional visits to PennEnergy Resources corporate and field offices.  There is potential for work in areas containing outdoor weather conditions, including wet, humid, cold, heat, loud noise, vibrations, gases, fumes, mists, dust, and odors while working onsite in the field. Subject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing, vision to monitor, and typing.  Must provide own transportation and be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle.

    REGULAR SCHEDULE

    This is a full-time hourly position with a regular schedule of 40-hour work weeks based on a predetermined production schedule.  Extended hours may be needed on occasion to complete Company objectives.  This position will be required to be accessible for call outs beyond standard working hours.  Up to 90% of travel is required to work sites beyond the corporate office.

    YEARS’ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED           1+ year roustabout experience or related mechanical experience

    WORK EXPERIENCE PREFERRED         1+ years of experience with oil & gas operations

                                                                        A combination of experience and/or education can be taken into consideration.
