Precise Systems, Inc. Mechanical Engineer in Crane, Indiana

Precise is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer in support of EEW SP28 program in Crane, IN. Providing routine system testing to ensure readiness as production verification of the SSNT on Mk4B as part of its refresh effort.

Responsibilities:

  • Will work with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to satisfy Government requirements and deviations to include necessary system engineering processes, documents, and/or methodologies.

  • Lead mechanical engineering efforts tied with Strategic Systems Program.

  • Provide engineering and technical support for the design, development, integration, test, evaluation, and engineering related logistics for procurement planning, prototyping (incidental materials) and development of maintenance capability and related services for SP28 wide band telemetry and other special projects, subsystems, equipment and components.

  • Work independently and/or lead teams to complete investigations and tests of considerable complexity involving airborne, shipboard or ground based systems.

  • Work on a wide variety of electronic equipment and systems and are generally recognized as an expert in significant engineering task areas.

  • Be responsible for complete designs, analyses, or design reviews independently or as the team leader.

  • Will lead engineering teams and act as a mentor to engineering team members.

Desired Experience:

  • (7) Seven years related professional experience.

  • Must be able to perform and lead a range of design development, analysis, or review tasks independently providing oversight of contributing engineers.

  • Capable of generating complete design specifications for complex projects.

  • Able to coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.

  • Must be able to develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.

  • Able to conduct experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.

  • Knowledge and experience working with RF systems programs is desirable.

  • Excellent communications and analytical skills

  • Working knowledge of computer systems, CAD software, hardware design and prototyping.

  • Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software.

  • Up to 10% travel may be required.

Desired Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related scientific field.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
