Here's the Gist: 

Wolfspeed’s Power Business is seeking a Product Engineer to support SiC Power Device Best Known Methods (BKM) for Design and Manufacturing.   

As a BKM Product Engineer in the Power New Technology Introduction Group, you will be responsible for championing best known methods for design and manufacturing readiness, including Design For Manufacturability & Yield, for new fab product technologies Responsibilities will include determination, implementation, and documentation of best practices for Power Device BKM/DFMY for new technology nodes for Wolfspeed SiC MOSFET, Schottky, and other device types across multiple fab locations New Technology Introduction Product Engineering BKM/DFMY ownership for the New Technology Team will enable manufacturable implementation of technology specifications to ensure technology solutions meet design, reliability, manufacturability, yield, cost, and schedule goals.  

The Day-to-Day

  • Drive New Technology implementation, qualification, and technology transfers with BKM manufacturing readiness principles.  Perform evaluation of new technology spec limits and help set process windows to ensure robust New Technology Introductions. 

  • Use design simulations and prototype design vehicles to identify and resolve potential New Technology design and integration issues prior to implementation into the manufacturing environmentPartner with design and integration teams to ensure compatibility of design rules with manufacturing capabilities.  

  • Use extensive data analysis to support, identify and validate new technology improvement activities. Identify quality screens and improvement to reduce reliability risk, improve Cpk for critical processes, and improve yields.  

  • Support New Technology Deliverables of Design FMEA, Risk Assessment, input to PDKs (Process Design Kits), Process FMEA and Control Plan for new products, including process capability characterization and specification development.  

  • Develop JMP scripts, data analysis tools, and reports as needed to summarize technology development capabilities.  

 

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or closely related field  

  • Experience in developing and transferring new designs and technologies from R&D into high volume production 

  • Experience using BKM/DFMY methods at the design and process levels to ensure manufacturing readiness with excellent Cpks 

  • Background in statistical techniques critical in manufacturing including ANOVA, SPC, Cpk, and experimental design.  

  • Understanding of semiconductor device physics.
