About the Role / What You Will Do

You will lead and manage a growing team of advanced analytic professionals focused on the highest value generating opportunities across Caterpillar. This role will have the unique opportunity to build the team from the ground up, with an intense focus on generative AI, machine learning and advanced analytic methods focused on business opportunities across Finance, Marketing, Manufacturing, Information Technology, Human Resources, Supply Chain Management and Sales & Strategy.

  • Directly manage a team of AI experts and analytics professionals

  • Lead generative AI and machine learning proof of concept use cases to prove out technology, feasibility, and business value

  • Configure and apply Caterpillar data to analytic models, establishing performance evaluation methods to evaluate fit over time

  • Work closely with functional teams to operationalize analytic improvements into business processes

What You Have – Skills and Experiences:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute your unique skills and experiences. Below are some of the most critical skills:

  • Artificial Intelligence: Knowledge of the concepts, technologies and methodologies of artificial intelligence (AI); ability to develop, implement and/or apply artificial intelligence products and services in specific industry domain to achieve business goals.

  • Data Science: Knowledge of the processes, approaches, and tools of data science; ability to perform data related tasks and initiatives in various business circumstances.

  • Internet of Things (IoT): Knowledge of processes and technologies of Internet of Things (IoT); ability to develop, implement and deliver related products, solutions and services to meet business needs.

  • Logical Data Modeling : Knowledge of concepts associated with basic data modelling; ability to identify, create and document activities, tasks, processes and data requirements for a particular system under design.

  • Analytical Thinking : Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

  • Disruptive Innovation: Knowledge of concepts, principles, and approaches of disruptive innovation; ability to adopt the knowledge into related processes and practices.

Degree Requirements

  • Master’s degree in data science or related field

Additional Details:

  • Location : Flexible, can be remote in the US.

  • Travel : 15-20% as needed
