VCA takes pride in expanding the growth and skill set of new veterinarians. We welcome newly graduated veterinarians (and current veterinary students) to apply to this position where they will receive individualized support with our 6-month mentorship program and a collaborative hospital team environment.

Our hospital is open 6 days (closed Sundays) a week, and doctors typically work 4 days each week on a rotating schedule that will include some Saturdays. The hospital is open 7:30- 6 pm M-F and 9 -5 on Saturdays.

VCA EGAH is a full-service veterinary hospital that includes surgery, digital radiology (including dental), ultrasound, dentistry, in-house labs, boarding and basic grooming. Tools available assist you to perform your best: Rigid endoscope, 2 ultrasound machines, Spectrum Laser, sevoflurane exclusive anesthesia and a full-time pharmacy RVT.

We pride ourselves on providing hometown support for our clients while backing it up with top notch medicine and equipment, as befits being a part of the VCA family of hospitals. Some of the doctors and support staff have been here for 10 - 30 years.

Fear Free certification: most staff and DVM’s are currently certified and we are actively pursuing hospital certification for 2024.

VCA EGAH has been serving the Elk Grove, Sacramento, Wilton and Lodi communities for almost 70 years. We have clients that are willing to travel to reach us from El Dorado Hills, Weed, and as far as Washington state, which is very humbling and flattering.

The city of Elk Grove is very family friendly with parks around every corner, lots of organized sports and activities for all ages, plus a very high-rate school system. There are numerous restaurants, breweries/ wineries, as well as several festivals that take place at nearby Elk Grove Regional Park and District 56, and now the Sky River Casino. If you seek additional adventure, we are a short drive to Sacramento and only a few hours from the Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Napa and Yosemite.

Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The annual salary range for this position is $66,560 - $180K. This position may also be eligible for other variable pay programs.
