We are actively seeking a Research Associate for our client in Durham, NC. This is a great opportunity to work with a dynamic company that is a global leader in the field of in vitro diagnostics.
The duration of the assignment is up to 12 months.
The Research Associate will participate in timely completion of development and support projects. The context of the job involves performing routine experiments under the supervision of more senior R&D staff in BSL 2 laboratories.
Organizes necessary materials for experimental activities.
Provides support in performing experimental activities and method development by executing routine and experiment specific tasks.
Responsible for data entry and collection.
Assures compliance of procedures to established protocols and quality standards.
Applies scientific principles and techniques to tasks and experiments.
Generates documentation detailing established protocols and procedures in accordance with standards.
Reviews documentation to ensure Good Documentation Practices (GDP) are followed.
Associates degree or higher in Biology or equivalent Life Sciences
Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
Practices good laboratory safety
Understanding of GLP/GMP
Knowledge/experience with GDP needed for documentation of test execution
Understanding of lab procedures and standard laboratory equipment
Ability to acquire and perform new laboratory techniques
Experience in Microbiology and Molecular Assays are preferred, but not required
Ability to record test results, organize raw data, and analyze data
Good communication skills in verbal and written English
Good computer skills (primarily using Microsoft Excel and Word)
