JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Behrend is seeking qualified candidates to apply for two positions of Athletic Trainer. The Athletic Trainer serves as a member of the Athletics Department and reports directly to the Director of Athletics. Penn State Behrend is a member of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) and has 24 varsity sports programs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day preventative, ongoing, and rehabilitative medical care for student-athletes at Penn State Behrend.

  • Acts as a liaison between external health care providers, doctors, and other medical professionals.

  • Lead the departmental compliance efforts for AED/CPR training and organization.

  • Plan and develop all departmental goals and objectives, assuring commitment to equity and inclusion in all aspects of student engagement with athletics, gender equity, and successful athletics experiences by all students.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher; Master’s Degree preferred

  • Minimum of 2+ years related experience

  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Certifications, Registrations, or Licensure: BOC Certified Athletic Trainer; PA State Licensed Athletic Trainer; Certified Health Care Provider (CPR/AED)

The following clearances must be successfully completed for this position:

  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check

  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History

  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check

This is a 10 month position with the months of June and July off. Full Penn State benefits included.

This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$38,300.00 - $67,300.00
