Job Description:

Schedule: First Shift

7:30AM-3:30PM

*Monday – Friday

*8-10-hour shifts

*Rotating weekends on-call

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Responsible for completing maintenance projects and specialized maintenance needs within assigned area in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Dismantle, install, and repair parts, electrical apparatus, mechanical and/or refrigeration systems and/or components equipment and machinery within assigned area.

  • Maintain current knowledge of regulations and laws within assigned area (i.e., OSHA, EPA, etc.) to ensure compliance.

  • Provide expert technical knowledge within applicable role.

  • Assemble and test equipment/systems to ensure correction of necessary repairs and maintenance.

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of maintenance records.

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

  • Assist with and/or oversee the maintenance of basic preventative, routine, and corrective maintenance responsibilities.

  • Responsible for basic and/or non-routine preventative and corrective maintenance; maintain and repair machinery and equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jacks, material handling equipment, etc.) within the distribution facility.

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, test and inspect (audibly and visually) equipment to determine need for repair.

  • Assist other mechanics with complex general repair as requested.

  • Responsible for the adherence of all maintenance policies and procedures at assigned location.

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Driver’s License (Required)

  • Four years mechanical/machinery/facility maintenance experience as applicable to assigned area.

  • Building maintenance experience required.

  • Responsible for building/facility maintenances such as buildings, grounds, water, fire systems, etc. as well as material handling equipment (MHE).

  • Must have strong knowledge and experience with OSHA standards, regulations, and requirements.

  • Proficiency in the use of mechanical tools required.

  • Must be able to listen to and visually inspect machinery in order to diagnose maintenance needs.

  • Ability to read schematics.

  • Must be able to safely drive required equipment (on-site training provided).

  • Good communication skills, written and verbal, to communicate and/or document maintenance needs and status of projects.

  • Good organization and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to lead day-to-day activities and adapt to change.

  • Must report for work regularly and on time, as scheduled.

  • Must be able to take direction from supervisor(s) and works well with others.

  • Must work well under pressure, and is able to organize and prioritize work assignments, and meet established deadlines.

  • Must perform assigned tasks accurately and completely.

  • Must be flexible and able to handle changes in work requirements productively.

Here’s some preferred items:

  • Technical certification and/or specialize certification within assigned area required (i.e., HVAC, Ammonia, etc. as applicable to the role).

  • Two years mechanical/machinery maintenance experience or related technical school certification,

  • Strong knowledge and experience with OSHA, EAP and RMP standards, regulations, and requirements, and working experience with industrial equipment, building maintenance and refrigeration systems.

  • Experience with forklift and material handling equipment maintenance and repair a plus

Must frequently sit, walk, and stand, use hands to handle, grasp, and twist objects, tools, or controls, and use both feet for repetitive movements as in operating foot controls. Must frequently walk, talk, crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, twist, and reach with the hands and arms. Ability to lift 75 pounds with assistance as needed. While performing the duties of this position, employees are subject to a warehouse environment and may frequently be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity based on assignment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hours shift as assigned.
