John Deere Fargo: Technician II - Building Maintenance

As a Building Maintenance employee with John Deere in Fargo, ND, you will:

Perform duties required to maintain a high-quality appearance for all our buildings and a clean and safe work environment for all our employees. Duties include, but not limited to, minor construction, building repairs, building preventative maintenance, grounds keeping, snow removal, and aiding building updates.

Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:

  • Perform building maintenance functions including cleaning, floor scrubbing, carpentry, painting, minor plumbing, and basic problem troubleshooting.

  • Perform grounds maintenance.

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance duties and minor repairs on building equipment.

  • Maintain accurate records for Preventative Maintenance work orders and daily Facilities request tickets.

  • Maintain the facilities supplies replenishment system.

  • Support the Deere Security and Safety programs.

  • Support on call rotation for evenings and weekends.

  • Assist and support other team members and work with minimal supervision.

  • Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.

This is a first shift position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must have at least one of the following:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.

  • National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)

  • At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience

  • At least 3 years of related experience in building repair/maintenance along with basic carpentry and plumbing knowledge.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.

  • Ability and willingness to work potential overtime (including weekends).

  • Technical degree, certifications, or equivalent work experience in one or more of the following: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, facilities management.
