SHIFT: 5 AM- 9 PM (Stable with 8-9 hr shifts)

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible with maintenance troubleshooting and diagnosis, repairs and preventive maintenance on each task assigned and perform other maintenance functions as directed by the Maintenance Foreman and/or Maintenance Manager to assist in achieving an efficient maintenance department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have good communication skills and be able to work with people from different departments in an office and manufacturing environment.

  • Be willing to work overtime and weekends when necessary.

  • Be detail oriented and well organized.

  • Must be able to change from one task to another frequently.

  • Be self-motivated, work individually or as a team and promote teamwork.

  • Must be able to repair conveyor belting, gearboxes, chains, and sprockets

  • Must be able to perform basic forklift repair and maintenance.

  • Work well in a team oriented and co-operative environment.

  • Have a friendly, professional, and courteous attitude .

  • Comply with all plant and safety rules, and company, EEOC and OSHA policies.

  • Be committed to LP-9000 and continuous improvement.

    REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted/150 pounds assisted.

  • Must be able to work in an uncontrolled temperature environment of 40 degrees Fahrenheit up to 130 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Must have full range of bodily motion (IE Bending, Crouching, Reaching etc.)

  • Must be able to work around hot ovens as well as items that use open flames to turn on heat. (IE Cutting Torch, Grinder, Furnace etc.)

  • Must have basic math and writing skills.

  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks.

  • Must be able to read and follow drawings and blueprints.

  • Computer skills including knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint a plus.

    PRIMARY DUTIES:

    Complete assigned daily checklist and work orders assigned in a timely manner and inform supeR visor of any problems or delays .

  • Turn all required paperwork (IE Completed Work Orders, Audit Corrections etc.) in on time.

  • Assist on preventive maintenance as directed by the Maintenance Foreman

  • Assist with continuous improvement as directed by the Maintenance Foreman

  • Responsible for communicating and assisting in preventive and predictive maintenance in assigned area as defined in this job description.

  • Perform other functions as directed by Maintenance Foreman

  • Work as instructed by Maintenance Foreman to assist production in meeting their production standards and requirements.

  • Ensure quality of material and work is to production standard.

  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.

  • Trouble shoot problems on equipment, then repair, as needed.

  • Ensure that tools are cleaned and stored properly, the shop area is cleaned and swept daily.

  • After a task, cleanup work area in plant when the task is complete. The task is not complete until the work area is cleaned up.

  • Ensure equipment is operational at all times with minimal down time.

  • Complete tasks on special projects as directed.

  • Comply with the 6S programs and LP9000 Audits

  • Serve on CI Teams
