Job Description:

The department of infectious diseases and immunology is searching for a student assistant to provide general administrative office support.

Support includes but is not limited to:

  • General front desk activities: room and vehicle reservations; answer department phone line and direct calls as appropriate; copying, scanning, filing; distributing mail

  • Departmental functions; includes picking up food and setting up/cleaning up conference rooms

  • Transport department personnel and guests to campus, hotel, airport, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned

Expected Salary:

$12.00/hour

Minimum Requirements:

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.

-Valid driver license

-Available to work in-person

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;

Detail orientated;

Knowledge of and ability to use, computers and computer related peripherals;

Familiarity with computer software including, but not limited to the Microsoft suite of programs;

Knowledge of and ability to use correct spelling, punctuation and grammar;

Ability to handle telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner, and to organize files
