Google Senior Fabrication Hardware Engineer, Quantum AI in Goleta, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 1 year of experience developing and integrating semiconductor fabrication processes in a cleanroom environment.

  • Experience in conventional microfabrication techniques.

  • Experience performing inspection and characterization techniques.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field.

  • 5 years of experience working in semiconductor research and development and/or production environments focused on development and integration.

  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as JMP, Python, or SQL.

  • Experience with materials characterization, SPC and/or process monitoring/specifications, multilayer mask design/CAD tools, wafer level probing, and failure-analysis.

  • Excellent communication skills, including meticulous documentation and organization with the ability to present facts clearly and concisely to staff members at all levels and backgrounds.

In this role, you will help to develop and integrate new designs and processes in a research environment. You will guide devices through these processes to ensure timely deployment, as well as coordinate for critical process development needed for next-generation devices. You will help improve the performance and reliability of our devices.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Work with cross-functional partners to plan and execute the successful introduction of new fabrication technologies and products into production.

  • Provide on-demand troubleshooting of fabrication processes and analysis of process stability.

  • Drive requirements for process modules and metrology, collaborating with module owners to identify and implement improvements to existing processes and procedures.

  • Build and maintain infrastructure to monitor processes and device performance to drive improvements in process yields and reliability.

  • Create clear documentation and systems for new processes to facilitate interfacing with, training, and overseeing technicians as new processes are released to production.
