POSITION SUMMARY

Jaclyn Foster Paralegal group in collaboration with a top Hackensack family law firm is seeking a Family Law Paralegal.

We are seeking a paralegal with 2+ years of experience in the field of Family Law to join our growing firm. In this position you will have the opportunity to be an active participant in the firm, and work closely with other paralegals, attorneys and firm administrators.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Assist attorneys in preparing cases for trial by preparing and organizing exhibits, assisting with client meetings, filing motions, organizing discovery and organizing and coordinating witnesses.

  • Work with attorneys in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including: interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, briefs and affidavits.

  • Draft Case Information Statements and prepare child support guidelines.

  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Manage attorneys' calendars including confirming and coordinating court appearances, meetings, etc.

  • Prioritize workload in accordance with deadlines.

  • Handle various administrative duties such as electronic and paper file maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in family law.

  • Stronger interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Possess outstanding organizational and time management skills.

  • Enjoy interacting with clients and potential clients.

  • Familiarity with CIS software, and Microsoft 365.

Compensation:

$60,000-$65,000+ DOE
