Brook+Whittle Production Worker in Hamilton, Ohio
Two shifts available:
Weekend - Saturday - Monday 5 am - 5 pm
2nd shift - Mondays 5 am - 1:30pm and Tuesdays-Thursdays 3 pm-1:30 am
The Production Employee is responsible for converting large rolls of printed and non-printed labels into specified quantities for shipping, splicing and rewinding end or remnant rolls into reusable rolls.
*Primary Duties and Responsibilities *
- Operate Master Roll lift safely.
- Rewinds product according to customer specifications and internal procedures.
- Visually inspects labels for defects.
- Sets up multiple slitter units.
- Slits down jobs.
- Maintains inventory of rewind material and replenishes as needed.
- Sets up and runs the Label Vision System.
- Splices rolls together following customer's specifications.
- Maintains the Rewind equipment using the PM schedules.
- Follows procedures to setup and operate the back numbering equipment.
- Operates the table top rewind equipment when needed.
- Assists in training individuals and other team members as assigned.
- Complies with established safety procedures and policies.
- Works with other departments and maintenance personnel on projects and/or validations.
- Focuses on Continuous Improvement, Quality, Improved Cycle Times, Safety, Cost Reductions, and Customer Satisfaction.
- Complies with company policies, procedures, and core processes.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent. May include specialized classes beyond high school.
- One (1) year of experience or more working within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to read, interpret and create simple correspondence and memos.
- Knowledge of mechanics and hazard communication standards and material safety data sheets.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Generally, performs single-function tasks that tend to be of moderate size and scope.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift / push / pull up to 20-50 lbs unassisted (or more occasionally).
- Must be able to stand for the majority of shift -- 2 hour increments.
- Short distance walking required with rolls to be placed on shipping table.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, grasp and reach frequently.
- Must be able to differentiate between color variance.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Must be able to perform well under deadline constraints and meet quality standards.
- Must be detail oriented and have excellent, quality driven work habits.
