Job Summary: Operate a variety of equipment and perform operations necessary to produce acceptable aerospace and industrial products within the following operations: Shaft Seal Conventional 12 inches and under, milling, turning, boring and abrasive machining procedures. Responsibilities Include but Not Limited to: Work from prints, sketches, process sheets, travelers, and verbal instructions. Use of precision measuring instruments such as: micrometers, air gage, dial, indicator, depth feeler gage to measure width, wall face width, step height, depth angle, to tolerances generally within .001", occasionally as close as .0001". Setup and adjustments made by others. Transport materials: perform dipping, coating, and wrapping of products as needed. Perform operator capable lubrication of service to machines and equipment. Set up and operate Lapping Room equipment as needed. Maintain records and paperwork. Assure that work area is kept clean, safe, and orderly. Notify supervision of any problems or difficulties. Follow all plant safety rules and procedures. Follow all 5S and Lean manufacturing principles. Communicate with department lead and supervisor on regular basis. Use of a variety of instruments and tools such as face grinder, mills, manual lathe, internal grinder and outside diameter grinder, micrometer/caliper, etc. Job Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Requires continuous attention to operations. Attention to detail. Due to the nature of the business, candidate must be a US Citizen Manufacturing operator experience a plus Flexibility with work hours during training period Ability to stand for 8-hours per day, 5-days per week. Ability to life 35-pounds (anything over 35-pounds will use lift assist or team lift) All hourly employees will be part of the United Steelworkers Union (USW).
