The Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our talented team of fiscal professionals. This position gives you the opportunity to perform basic accounting principles and clerical duties in association with the review, processing, approving, and payment of original vendor repair and service invoices. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This Accounting Assistant position is responsible for reviewing all original automotive invoices for accuracy and compliance with approved rates and discounts. This includes answering the telephone and performing clerical and basic accounting tasks in association with the review. Other duties include inputting information into the bureau's computer system regarding the automotive vendors and the repair and service of state vehicles, reviewing and processing work orders (shop cards) from the maintenance division, preparing checks to vendors utilizing the SAP computer system, and preparing a special monthly billing to charge departments, agencies, and commissions for consumable items the bureau program does not cover. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or An Associate Degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits of accounting.
