DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Clerical Assistant 3, you review and process various forms and legal documents to provide accurate criminal history records. You compile and interpret information from fingerprint cards, docket transcripts, miscellaneous disposition sheets, probation and parole notices, Bureau of Correction status reports, and Governor's Pardons. You also communicate effectively with courts, police departments, state institutions, and other law enforcement agencies to modify and correct criminal history arrest information. In addition, you interpret and apply Pennsylvania Crimes Code, Penal Code, Vehicle Code, Pharmacy laws, Liquor Code, and the Drug and Cosmetic Act. You also examine criminal case information and accurately determine final dispositions, and interpret legal terminology, criminal court procedures, and sentencing guidelines.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with 30-minute lunch. Flex scheduling and an Alternate Work Schedule are available.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training . Additional Requirements: Ability to obtain and maintain an active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job. You must be able to perform essential job functions. This position issubject to the promotion provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding.
