Summary:

The Administrative Director of Cardiovascular Services prioritizes, plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operation of the Cardiovascular Service Department(s) in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, industry standards, and regulations that govern the organizational enterprise. These efforts will be directed to ensure that the organizational goals are achieved within the highest degree of quality, service, team member, patient, and provider engagement.

The Administrative Director provides overall oversight of clinical and business operations for:

• Population-based program development for Cardiology, Vascular, Neurosciences, Wound, and Sleep Services

• Cardiology, Vascular, and Neurology Imaging Strategy & Integration

• Invasive Cardiology and Vascular including Angiography Suites, Limb Salvage program

• Neurosciences: Diagnostic Neurosciences (EMG, EEG, Tele-neurology), Mobility Clinic, Stroke Program

• Specialty Clinics: Sleep Center and Comprehensive Wound Center

• Administrative: Business Development, Compliance, Quality, Registries, Data Analytics, Planning, Capital

This position is responsible for developing, documenting and obtaining board approval of the comprehensive strategic plan and corresponding business plans in collaboration with organizational leaders at all levels to facilitate the growth of the overall programs, alignment with organizational strategic plan / pillars / priorities, and organizational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  1. Consistently leads the service line based on a patient / family centered approach across the care continuum. Manages and directs assigned departments, assuring all departments administrative and organizational responsibilities are completed in an efficient, effective, and timely way.

  2. Develops and implements plans for manpower, facilities, and marketing in alignment with organizational strategic plan and in collaboration with other responsible leaders and teams.

  3. In collaboration with the appropriate Medical Directors and organizational leaders, develops a strategic quality plan for each key program. Maintains an environment of safety for patients, families, team members, and all others who enter the organization.

  4. Establishes standards, processes, systems, and measures that fulfill regulatory and accreditation standards and drives consistent services line approach throughout the organization.

  5. Evaluates overall service delivery, system efficiency, patient experience, cost effectiveness, and revenue integrity and takes corrective action when needed. Develops and implements established metrics monthly / quarterly and presents to appropriate Administrative and Physician leaders and plans and implements action for improvement when needed.

  6. Serves as leader, communicator, facilitator, and coordinator within the service line team, organization, and external partnerships to promote integration, collaboration, and advancement of key initiatives. Develops proposals for Foundation Department support and collaborates with Foundation leaders on fund raising events.

  7. Establishes the research and teaching agenda for the service line based on identified needs and opportunities.

  8. Serves as liaison with medical staff and medical staff leaders to engage them in the service line initiatives and to advance the service line.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum five years of experience in service line administration required.

• Demonstrated leadership, management, facilitation and networking skills. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain provider and collegial relationships.

• Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage priorities and utilize time effectively. Ability to make prompt and effective decisions. Demonstrated flexibility and independence.

• Demonstrated competence in written, oral and electronic communication skills. Communicates clearly to express thoughts and ideas (interpersonal and technological effectiveness competencies).

• Demonstrated experience in reputation and crisis management.
