PACIV Automation Engineer (Entry Level) in Indianapolis, Indiana
The Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing and troubleshooting automated control processes and systems in partnership with our client’s Life Sciences and Water/Wastewater sites. These support services will typically be performed working within the client’s maintenance, process engineering and/or automation department team(s).
Position Responsibilities/Essential Functions
+ + Design, programming, implementation and support for new control system/automation projects within regulated environments
Participate in capital projects, new installations, testing, and modernization projects for new systems
Provide technical support, problem solving, maintenance, modifications/updates, and continuous improvement for existing automated equipment and process control systems
Lead efforts for the remediation, migration or upgrade of existing systems
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Engineering or Technical discipline required
Comfortable with 24/7 manufacturing environment
Works well with others, within a team and takes accountability
Can handle a high-pressure, high-stress work environment
Result driven and self-motivated
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and presentation)
Organized, with strong computer literacy such as MS Word, Project, Excel, etc.
Desired Hard Skill Sets (via Internships/Co-Ops) :
- Knowledge and understanding of controls systems governed by platforms such as CompactLogix and ControlLogix PLC systems, GE Proficy platform, and JCI Metasys for BMS/CMS, Facility, and Utility systems
Experience with SCADA HMI interfaces (FactoryTalk View, iFix, WonderWare, etc.).
Familiarity of Electrical Drawings, Schematics and Line Diagrams which depict the electrical theory, operation and control of a system
Knowledge of S88 Standard; Configuration experience with FactoryTalk Batch and/or DeltaV Batch
Other Requirements
Location: Indianapolis
Travel: Up to 20% of the time to various suppliers, collaborators and client sites outside of Indianapolis (this may be temporarily impacted by current COVID-19 travel restrictions enforced at the client, State, and/or Federal level)
