The Opportunity

Caterpillar is hiring a Business Process Specialist, with a focus on accounting, to drive delivery of Caterpillar's battery electric powered machines. In this position, you will have the pleasure of working amongst an international team of collaborators, across functional areas such as commercial, supply chain, purchasing, treasury, tax, IT. The Business Process Specialist is a perfect blend of accounting and technical skill, requiring an understanding of not only Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, but also how system development and design will support business requirements.

This role is in support of Caterpillar’s Battery as a Service (BaaS) model within the Electrification + Energy Solutions division. As the Business Process Specialist for BaaS, you will be instrumental in deploying new products, functionalities, and geographical regions in support of E+ES strategy into the SAP ECC ERP system. This position will work closely with the larger project team, crossing multiple functional areas, as well as the shared services accounting teams, to ensure that all accounting requirements and functionalities are met. This position entails the identification of business requirements centered around accounting, documenting them via visual flow, and communicating requirements to IT development teams.

Responsibilities may include:

• Defining and capturing business requirements

• Business process design

• Participation in blueprinting sessions

• Review and approval of SAP data load templates

• User acceptance testing within SAP

• Collaboration with accounting operations team on post-deployment processes

Degree Requirement :

Degree or equivalent experience in accounting, business, or related field

  • Understands SAP chart of accounts and cost objects (cost centers, internal orders, WBS elements)

  • Follows regulations for entering and reporting the financial content

Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis.

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Evaluates financial to statements and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Advises others on a variety of financial tools, techniques and approaches .

Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting.

Level Working Knowledge:

  • Understand business requirements for financial reporting.

  • Understand compliance requirements to build and define accounting requirements for system development
