Position Function

EAS 1310 (Basic Principles of Meteorology) is a 3-credit course held in the fall semester and should cover content applicable to meteorology and atmospheric science.

Effectively train and work with teaching assistants to enhance student learning. The position requires a Master's degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, or related fields. A PhD is strongly preferred. We are especially excited to enhance the diversity of perspectives and backgrounds of our faculty to reflect the experiences of our undergraduate population.

Instruction/Evaluation (100%)
* Prepare materials for all course meetings, including methods to engage students in active learning.
* Collaborate with atmospheric science faculty to create case studies for utilization in class as active learning instruments.
* Take responsibility for the authoring of all course assessments while considering diverse learning styles that students bring.
* Lead the evaluation of all course assessments as the instructor of record, including developing clear rubrics, training teaching assistants, and grading.
* Be the sole responsible party, as the instructor of record, for final grades.
* Develop methods that allow for responsiveness of enrolled students.

* Hold office hours for meeting with students.

Requirements
* Master's degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, or a related field.

* Experience teaching at the undergraduate level.

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

• Prior relevant work or industry experience.

• Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.

• Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)

• Unique applicable skills.
