Heartland Area Education Agency School Social Worker in Johnston, Iowa

Description:

Heartland AEA has a full-time school social worker position available for the 2024-25 school year, based in the Ames regional office, serving children in the Ballard, Collins-Maxwell, Colo-Nesco, and Nevada school districts. This position will have a 192-day contract and will provide services for the identification, evaluation and educational programming of children. This position will be engaging in primary contact roles in addition to systems level support of behavioral/social/emotional/mental health. Candidates must have very strong ABA skills and experience in MTSS/PBIS support. This position will also have responsibilities included with Early Access.

Qualifications:

Candidates will need to have excellent teamwork, collaboration, communication and organizational skills. Candidates must be appropriately licensed/certified by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners (or have the ability to obtain a license) and possess a master's degree in social work.
