They will us the necessary machine shop equipment in the production of this tooling in a safe and productive manner. Will work in a team-oriented environment with individual responsibilities in specific machining processes. Position Description - Tasks, responsibilities, competencies Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions of product for accuracy and conformance to specifications Read and interpret blueprints Perform basic machine set-ups as designated by the machine shop manager Use the most effective and efficient methods to operate each machine Set the correct machining parameters for the use of each cutting tool. Dimensionally and visually inspect the product to ensure the product meets all print and customer requirements Enter data in a database Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations Follow both written and verbal work instructions, work sketches, and use shop math Other tasks as assigned by manager The incumbent considers all interests of quality, accident prevention, and occupational safety as well as environmental safety in a preventive manner within his scope of responsibility and supports the avoidance of damages to people, facilities, assets, materials, and the environment actively. The employee may be exposed to airborne particles, metal shavings, sharp cutting tools, and moving mechanical parts. PPE and hearing protection are required at all times.
