Summary:
Manage the organization’s public relations strategy to enhance brand and product awareness and reputation with customers, the media, employees, investors, and other stakeholders . Develop, deliver, and manage a comprehensive public relations plan, including the creative use of press releases and news announcements; develop a proactive outreach program for earned media coverage; launch new products; manage award and speaking programs; and work across departments to develop PR strategies for campaigns, partnerships, and philanthropic work.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help develop and execute a comprehensive PR program that articulate s the Vivint story while increas ing awareness , and drivi ng demand
Manage Vivint’s proactive media efforts, including optimizing news pipeline and track ing news flow
Manage Vivint’s product review program with media outlets
Oversee strategic PR activities for product releases and other announcements
Maintain the company’s press release / announcements calenda r and PR archives
Identify and support external or internal escalations that could potentially result in media interest
Write and edit press releases, articles, award nominations, and speaking proposals with approvals from relevant stakeholders
Obtain and facilitate target media interviews for key company spokespeople
Secure, support and facilitate media events and tradeshow media interviews
Work with marketing teams on positioning, messaging , and timelines for product launches and other campaigns
Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends and competitive offerings, and create innovative communication strategies around them
Monitor and maintain project and other budge ts
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Strong writing skills with the ability to present information clearly, concisely, and creatively. Tech writing experience is a must .
Experience with all forms of PR writing, including (but not limited to) press releases, speaking proposals, thought leadership, media pitches, award nominations , and FAQs
Experience working with media outlets on product review and placements
Demonstrated successful experience in media relations, spokesperson training, and issues management
Understanding of social media platforms and their role within the overall media environment
Sound judgement and critical thinking skills
Ability to manage and execute cross-functional projects on deadline
Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to manage major communication campaigns.
Proven track record of working with C-level executives.
Proven track record of managing a PR team, either agency or in-house.
Proactive, reliable, and accurate with an attention to detail.
Successful experience working across departments and all organization levels.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
B achelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations , or related field preferred
Consumer-facing product PR experience required
4+ years of experience in public relations

WORKING CONDITIONS:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
