HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

Responsible for the overall integrity of the general ledger, which entails ensuring the proper assignment of all general account numbers and timely reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts. Reviews monthly financial statements and company reports required for financial reporting, internally and externally to ensure completeness and accuracy. Assists other members of the accounting department and within the company in identifying/researching account transactions.

Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Prepares complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. May guide or review the work of support staff. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Involve in the day-to-day activities and month-end process to ensure the integrity of the general ledger. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Monitors daily business activities associated with GLs to be able to resolve issues before month-end close.

  • Prepares and enters journal entries in Oracle for month-end closing as well as assessments associated with (not limited) accruals, prepaids, reserve reviews, amortization, freight tracking and recording, etc

  • Prepares monthly reconciliations of key general ledger accounts and is able to provide flux analysis.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional business groups to complete monthly closing.

  • Assists the Finance and Accounting team in the creation of month-end general ledger and financial reports and review of month end budget versus actual cost center reports.

  • Provides audit evidence and explanations to internal and external auditors as required.

  • Works closely with IS to improve management reporting.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all activities are properly documented for J-Sox compliance.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement.

  • Accounting projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager

    WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 4-7 year’s general ledger experience or equivalent in a manufacturing environment.

  • Accounting background including General Ledger, account reconciliation, month-end close activities, and financial analysis.

  • Thorough understanding of sales and manufacturing functions.

  • Advanced Excel Skills and big ERP system experience.

  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills, and proven problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and work independently.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated, responsible and a good team player.
