DCX-CHOL Enterprises Inc. Production Manager in Los Angeles, California
SCB Division of DCX-CHOL is seeking an experience Aerospace Production Manager with the following qualifications:
The Production Manager (Level I) must continuously maintain an understanding of internal and external customer needs to align the efforts of manufacturing processes and product and service schedules. Communicate and collaborate effectively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, promote a sense of urgency, set priorities, identify and address problems, ensure process adherence, stay within budget and meet deadlines.
Key Performance Indictors:
Ensure production is cost effective and personnel are focused on tight process control and continuous improvement
Review, amend, and help generate standard operating procedures where needed
Coordinate, set up and implement standard operating procedures for all production operations
Publish goals and measure actuals while ensuring products are produced on time and with high quality
Adhere to prescribed procedures to ensure first pass quality meets or exceeds planned goals
Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, schematics, operating instructions and/or procedure manuals. Must be able to understand quality standards, methods, and reporting as required
Strong ability to excel under pressure in a rewarding and demanding environment
Core Functions:
Gain and maintain a full understanding of internal and external customer requirements
Provide leadership and development as required to achieve planned objectives
Conduct GEMBA walks, weekly meetings with Dept. Leads and monthly meetings with TEAM LEADS
Review the performance of the production employees including disciplinary and hiring activities
Track production employee’s individual skill sets and competencies
Conduct training that develops and cross-trains each employee that continually improve the Team
Monitor production processes and adjust schedules and resources as needed to meet production schedules
Optimize resource utilization by recommending or implementing process improvements
Provide overall direction and coordination of the manufacturing team
Provide estimating with details of necessary adjustments when production output does not align with bid proposal
Study production schedules and estimate manpower requirements for completion of job assignments
Establish or adjust work procedures to meet new challenges with successful and repeatable results
Requisition materials, equipment, and supplies
Suggest changes in working conditions to increase efficiency of work crew
Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products
Analyze and resolve work task problems and assist employees in solving those problems
Qualifications:
Qualified individuals will possess the following at a minimum:
Candidate will have "hands-on" inspection experience, and have a minimum of 3 years in aerospace cable assembly
Minimum 5 years experience in Aerospace
Working knowledge of AS9100 standards, 5 years of experience in AS9100 quality system
Experience with source inspection
Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies
Experience with standard quality tools
Excellent skill in blueprint reading and interpretation.
Excellent skill in reading mil-specs, government contracts and requirements
Self-motivated and detail oriented in a fast-paced, priority changing environment
