Aristotle Capital Management Senior Accountant - Tax in Los Angeles, California

We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant - Tax to join our team.

This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of the firm’s financial operations and reporting. This individual should be highly motivated, proactive and a master of details who can also understand the bigger picture. Utilizing hands-on accounting experience and an understanding of accounting principles and industry-specific company practices, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the completeness and accuracy of accounting records, prepare financial reporting and budgets, tax compliance work, and maintain quality control over financial data and processes.

To be successful in this role, the candidate should understand general accounting principles. The candidate should also be able to multi-task and meet a constant stream of deadlines. From time-to-time, there may be special projects with the goal of maximizing resources, streamlining processes, and improving efficiency within the accounting department and our growing organization. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can contribute beyond the listed responsibilities and be a dynamic member of the team and the firm.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare quarterly state and federal tax schedules for all Aristotle and related entities.

  • Assist in review of the multi state, and federal returns and work to resolve issues identified as part of that review.

  • In coordination with the Company’s tax accountants, ensure timely quarterly payments and extension filings.

  • Prepare filings for local jurisdictions including property taxes, city taxes, as appropriate.

  • Prepare schedules in order to facilitate commission calculations and reporting.

  • Responsible for general accounting for various entities each month including recording journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly financial analysis and reporting packages as needed by the Company.

  • Assist with preparation of annual budget.

  • Review travel and expense reimbursements and corporate credit card reconciliations.

  • Actively participate in year-end audits, tax preparation and quarterly reviews, including preparation of support schedules and related requests.

  • Maintain adequate internal controls within the accounting processes to ensure well documented, accurate and timely financial reporting.

  • Implement and document procedures necessary to maintain and improve internal controls.

  • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.

  • Manage time effectively, multi-task, and work under tight deadlines.

  • Perform general and ad hoc project support as required.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in Accounting, Finance, Math, Business Administration, or a related field strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive general accounting, with at least 2 years of tax accounting experience.

  • Strong knowledge of State and Local Tax fundamentals, as well as knowledge of GAAP and application of accounting principles.

  • Ability to grasp company financial policies and protocols.

  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, thorough and accurate.

  • Superior analytical and strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and innovative mindset, regularly identifying challenges and proposing creative solutions.

  • Ability to work both independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Innate desire to learn and drive to succeed with a strong sense of ownership for work product.

  • Must have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and integrity.

  • Highly empathetic with a strong sense of curiosity.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Relevant system and computer skills required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Highly motivated and efficient individual who can set priorities, meet deadlines, and constantly adapt to changing conditions in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

Compensation Range: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00, plus discretionary bonus.

Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, relevant experience, knowledge, skills, education, internal equity, and physical work location within the state.

This is a hybrid role, preference is to be located within commuting distance of our Los Angeles, CA office.
