With a diversity of people, global locations, technologies and products, 3M is a place where you can collaborate with other curious, creative 3Mers.This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career.The Impact Youll Make in this RoleThe person hired for the position of Business Supply Chain Engineer will drive manufacturing supply chain improvements in the Respirator businesses within the Personal Safety Division, working on Reusable Respirator, Powered and Supplied Air, and Welding businesses.They will work with the global manufacturing and supply chain team to drive value stream improvements. Projects will include New Product Introductions (NPIs), portfolio optimization, operational cost reduction, capacity building for growth, SOS transfer for lead time and cost improvements, change management projects, and COGS reduction.As a Business Supply Chain Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:Translate portfolio business objectives into ESC requirements and develop end-to-end operational plans for execution in partnership with the functions of Plan, Source, Make, Deliver (PSMD).Identify, prioritize, and lead division specific improvement projects across the supply chain through fundamental engineering and supply chain operations principles.Ensure appropriate functional teams and owners are in place for priority projects.Partner with division to actively manage product lifecycle and portfolio excellence.Spearhead NPI work partner with division cross-functional teams on design for manufacturability, service, product & process capability, and cost effectiveness to ensure successful development, scale-up and launch.Ensure Enterprise Supply Chain (ESC) performance delivers against global division specific objectives and needsEnsure long-range capacity plans, supply chain architecture and network will enable growth with acceptable service and inventory levels.Determine what is needed to drive service, quality, cost, cash, and reliability across PSMDYour Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)Five (5) years of engineering, manufacturing, and/or supply chain experience in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Bachelors degree or higher in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial and/or Manufacturing Engineering, and Supply ChainManufacturing, Supply Chain, or R&D experienceExperience with manufacturing processes such as electromechanical hard goods Assembly, Ultrasonic welding, Printed Circuit Board Assembly, injection molding, automated and manual assembly and convertingDemonstrated experience participating on global cross functional teamsKnowledge and experience in applying Six Sigma tools and/or Lean principlesExperience using statistics to analyze and improve processesExperience leading capital equipment installation and scale-up projectsExperience MS project managementWork location:Work Your Way Eligible (on site, or hybrid)St. Paul, 3M CenterTravel: May include up to 25% domestic/internationalRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life both physically and financially. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
