Engineering Technician (6-month contract) $36-38/hr.
Volt is seeking a talented Senior Hardware Electronics Technician to participate on development projects focused specifically on various equipment and its associated accessories. This individual will need to have hands on electronics experience, ability to troubleshoot electronics, and good documentation and organizational skills. Build prototype parts, set up and operate test equipment, fixtures, and tooling for new product development. This individual should have experience building electronics, enclosures, and the ability to troubleshoot. This person should be able to perform experiments and testing of functional parts and provide documentation supporting those tasks.
Provides design verification test support by performing experiments and feasibility tests on a variety of processes as assigned by engineering.
Must have good documentation skills that are clear and concise to assist in writing technical reports by capturing experimental results and demonstrating technical writing skills.
Set up and operate machining equipment used to produce or modify prototype parts, fixtures or products for new product development per engineering design and instruction.
Inspect components and finished product against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools.
Mechanical and electrical assembly of equipment.
Trouble-shooting experience with electrical, mechanical equipment.
Ability to read and understand mechanical prints, schematics and procedures.
Ability to prioritize, organize and complete responsibilities and tasks to meet customer expectations.
Assist in the generation of documentation (i.e. drawings, specs, procedures, travelers, etc.) required to support new product development projects.
Troubleshoot and suggest creative solutions to process and design issues.
Complete hands-on electronics work. This includes design, debug and build of circuitry, specialty cables, and other parts in a lab environment.
Identifies project risks and ensures compliance with procedural and documentation requirements of FDA and ISO design controls.
Two-year Associate degree in electronics is desired
Minimum 8 years’ experience in a technician role with medical devices experience or other highly regulated industry preferred.
Required experience operating various laboratory equipment including the following; oscilloscope, power supply, multi-meter, and function generator.
Ability to effectively use Microsoft Products.
Medical device experience preferred.
