Here, you will make an impact by:Setting up, operating, and maintaining pilot plant equipment.Provide support to conduct experimental runs while maintaining a safe work environment.Maintaining a safe working environment.Supporting the development of technologies and processes.Preparing and operating experimental, prototype, or production equipment. Provides general maintenance, set up, and changeover of equipment.Locating defects or problems during the manufacturing process. Makes adjustments to correct. The problem.Performing quality testing. Interprets and provides feedback on quality results. Adjusts machinery to meet specifications based on test results.Maintaining record of run conditions and quality test results. Produces necessary reports.Participating and occasionally serving as team leader in various pilot plant teams.Performing other duties as assigned.This job includes shift work on a regular basis with overtime.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:High school diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)One (1) year of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Associates/Two (2)-year Technical degree or higher from an accredited institutionExtrusion experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience with web handlingExperience with nonwovens processes and/or equipmentExperience with injection molding processes and/or equipmentStrong mechanical aptitude and good problem solving skillsAbility to complete work with little supervision and work well in a team environmentGood written and verbal communication skillsPersonal flexibility to handle change within the workplaceMicrosoft Office proficientWork location:Maplewood, MinnesotaWork Shift: Rotating Shift, including Day shift, Afternoon shift, and Overnight shiftTravel: May include up to 5% domesticRelocation Assistance: Not authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life both physically and financially.
