Parker Hannifin, the world's leading manufacturer of industrial refrigeration valves, is seeking to add a Maintenance Mechanic for 1st shift at our Mauston, WI location. Position will be responsible to in stall, maintain, and repair production machinery, auxiliary equipment, buildings and facilities and electrical and special systems. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following: Support and adhere to Parker’s Code of Ethics, policies, and procedures and observe housekeeping guidelines. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Essential

  1. Plan, lay out, and perform operations to relocate, install, maintain and repair large and complex standard and computer-controlled machinery, treating and conditioning equipment, machine and process control centers.

  2. Diagnose problems, trace circuits, and determine extent of repairs necessary, involving interrelated mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic functions.

  3. Repair or replace parts, fit, and align to close tolerances.

  4. Detect and replace defective control modules utilizing a voltmeter on AC, and DC circuits. Modify or revise circuits and make temporary repairs.

  5. Install, maintain, and repair low- and high-pressure air lines, compressors, water lines, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.

  6. Read and interpret schematics for electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic circuits.

  7. Install power feed lines, wire or lay out wiring with a large number of connections, cut and bend conduit, wire machinery and relocate electrical outlets.

  8. Set up and operate ordinary machine tools such as engine lathe, milling machine, drill press, and grinders to make or modify parts.

  9. Fabricate and assemble parts, select tips and rods, regulate current and voltage, air and gas pressure to weld or braze for strength and a minimum of distortion.

  10. Notify supervisor of unusual equipment or operating problems.

  11. Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.

  12. Must be able to work from heights.

  13. Must be able to work some last-minute overtime.

  14. Able to connect with and trouble shoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs.

  15. Proficient with 480 3 phase, 277V AC, 120volt AC, and 24 Volts AC& DC.

  16. Able to make program changes to PLC programs.

    Qualification Requirements : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.     Education and/or Experience : 4 - 5 years in maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility with Industrial maintenance preferred. High school Diploma or equivalency required. PLC, robotics, MIG and ARC welding experience preferred.

    Language Skills:Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions, specifications, drawings, diagrams, ladder logic, binary code, and other correspondence. Ability to communicate with other associates to share information, solve problems, and train.

    Mathematical Skills:Ability to use advanced trade math together with visualizing and the use of complicated specifications, drawings, electrical and hydraulic diagrams, sketches, lay outs, manuals, charts, and tables, and use all varieties of precision measuring instruments and meters.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Requires the ability to complete Lock Out/Tag Out training. May require a fork truck license.

    Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.

    Other Skills and Abilities :Requires the ability to operate various machines and equipment to include welding equipment, acetylene torch, forklift, high rise and CNC manual and automatic machines, milling machines, lathe and machine centers, drill presses, and auxiliary equipment. Requires basic computer skills and interpretation of repair manuals.

    While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand and walk, and use hands to finger or touch objects, tools, or controls, and lift and/or move 5 to 30 lbs. The associate is occasionally required to push and pull objects, bend, lift and/or move 35 to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, depth perception and color.

    While performing the duties of this job, the associate frequently works near moving mechanical parts and has exposure to electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
