JOB REQUIREMENTS: Duties This Health Technician (Dietetic) position is located at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI in the Nutrition and Food Services (NFS) Division as the Nutrition Call Center Associate (NCCA). The primary purpose of the position is to provide administrative and customer service support for the Milwaukee Hospital food services program. Performs routine duties that require exceptional computer skills, proper phone etiquette, proficiency in special dietary procedures, a broad knowledge of routine modified diets, combinations of diet modifications and knowledge of Dietetics software required functions. The incumbent is responsible for handling patient meal service order, answering patient calls using Automatic Call Distributor (ACD) phone system, and entering meal orders into the Dietetics Software computer system.Major Duties: Practice proper business telephone etiquette while answering phones and use strong listening and speaking skills. Properly operate telephone equipment by transferring or placing calls on hold. Contact patients who have missed meals or to take meal order by telephone or personal visit to patient. Assemble meal tickets in numerical sequence by room and bed number for nursing units. Retrieve and print computerized information/printouts. Transfer patient menu preferences and keep Nutrition Call Center stocked with all supplies and file menus. Handle routine telephonic inquiries regarding patient meal orders, and maintains log of telephonic clinic inquiries/concerns. Assist in kitchen with delivery of patient/guest trays, restocking room service line, and lining patient trays. Verify physician order for unusual diets, conflicting modifications, and nutritional supplements. Perform other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Hours are variable between 5:30am-7:00pm and mostly PM.
