The incumbent will work on the Talking with Teens Study research team, supporting analysis of qualitative data collected during focus groups. We are a research team based at Broadway Family Medicine Clinic in North Minneapolis. We are searching for an experienced qualitative data analyst for a study on young people's opinions of discussing racism with their doctors. This is a great opportunity to be a part of study that aims to improve health equity in our patient care. Job Responsibilities 90% Qualitative Data Analysis: Code qualitative data from approx. three focus groups. 10% Administrative Duties: Attend training and team meetings, discuss findings with the study team, reconcile coding, data management. Qualifications All required qualifications must be documented on application materials. Required Qualifications BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 2 years in a social/behavioral science, public health, or similar field Experience with qualitative research methods Demonstrated skill in a qualitative analysis software such as NVivo Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to work independently, as a part of a team, and with changing priorities Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills Preferred qualifications Experience with human subjects research Experience with REDCap Working with marginalized populations Working in a multicultural or multiethnic program or environment Interest in research topics including health equity, birth outcomes, and obstetric racism About the Department The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota was created more than 50 years ago in response to a legislative mandate to train primary care physicians. Since then, we have been leaders in transforming the specialty through education, research, and patient care. We are the academic sponsor of seven family medicine residencies-five in the Twin Cities, two in Greater Minnesota.
