The Performance Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing performance tests for highly scalable, multi-brand eCommerce platform. The individual will work closely with product management, software developers and system engineers to understand requirements and participate in design discussions Conduct performance, scalability, and reliability tests of business tools, third party applications and consumer-facing eCommerce applications. Design, orchestrate and analyze load tests using a variety of load testing tools, statistics and analysis techniques. Effectively communicate analysis of performance test results, bottlenecks, sizing guidelines, and recommend improvements for Java applications and database specific issues. Manage and execute build and deploy activities for performance testing environment.
Minimum Qualifications include:
Experience in automated performance, scalability, and stress testing of highly scalable eCommerce systems using industry performance tools, e.g. Mercury Loadrunner.
Experience in capacity planning for large scale systems.
Strong system engineering skill.
Tasks they will be focusing on:
Duplicate tests: Search, identify, analyze, eliminate or de-dupe repetitive tests.
Flaky tests: Find, identify, and eliminate tests with brittle or intermittent assertions.
Test audits: Analyze and audit test counts for each domain and language. Identify missing tests in each area, based on coverage.
Investigate current test coverage.
Identify test device in carry usage logs
Fix broken tests
Test grading: Eliminate Core test tags for tests that are currently snoozed.
Test grading: Add core tests, for high importance or high-frequency use cases.
Investigate test failures — identify root cause for test failures blocking the pipeline.
Burn-down list of snoozed tests on a weekly basis (marking as non-core, or fixing the test assertion)
