Google Senior Product Manager, Google Nest Camera Experiences in Mountain View, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience in product management, consulting, co-founder or related technical role.

  • 3 years of experience building and shipping technical products.

  • Experience working on software for a hardware product.

  • Experience working on AI/ML or Computer Vision.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with understanding user needs.

  • Experience working with hardware and AI/ML teams.

  • Experience working on a hardware/software product.

  • Experience with AI/ML feature development and performance quality.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

Google Nest cameras are used to feel safe and secure at home or to look after homes when customers are away. In this role you will build a positive user experience for camera users and work alongside the camera hardware team. With a focus on the camera experience in the Google Home app where people can see their camera live streams, check history, get notifications, and more. As the Senior Product Manager, you will drive the product idea and roadmap for camera intelligence, using Google's AI to make cameras more reliable in the hands of users.

The Google Nest team focuses on hardware, software, and services for the home, ranging from Nest thermostats to Nest smart displays. The Google Nest team develops, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Build and own an idea for a portfolio of camera features rooted in user needs and technology.

  • Drive a steady stream of camera app launches that improve the day-to-day user experience.

  • Drive engineering requirements for new AI features, and drive performance for existing object detection algorithms.

  • Build accountability for reliability metrics, keep close tabs on user sentiment and feedback about products.

  • Evaluate strategic bets for cameras in the Google Home app.
