American Express’ Global Advertising & Brand Management (GABM) team is responsible for creating marketplace demand and driving commerce for American Express through differentiated and innovative branding, marketing, and experiences. Within GABM sits the Global Brand Strategy & Insights team, responsible for defining & accelerating the Amex Brand Strategy, delivering consumer insights, and elevating tools and learnings for the global Marketing Community.

The Senior Analyst - Go To Market Strategy will join the US Brand Planning & Insights team, which plays an integral role enabling new brand strategies, advertising, and experiences for American Express prospects & existing customers. The team connects insights, product, marketing, and advertising and develops comprehensive plans and distribution strategies which allow us to operate more effectively & efficiently. Focus areas span our go to market plans for new product launches or refreshes, test & learn, creative & content, and campaign operations for above the line advertising.

To achieve this, significant collaboration is required across Global Advertising & Brand Management, Global Commercial Services, Global Merchant Services, & US Consumer Services to co-author strategies and implement. The Sr. Analyst will partner across a variety of functions spanning Insights, Business Development, Marketing, Media & Content, Experiential, Legal, Compliance, Servicing & Operations. The individual plays a critical role setting up the tools, processes, and systems to track and monitor strategic priorities across Global Advertising & Brand Management, and further strategic connections with lines of business.

This position reports to the Director, Go to Market Strategy. A one-team mentality, previous experience delivering large-scale innovation and change through obstacles, and a one team mentality is key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Go to Market Planning : Develop tools to track, monitor, and align above-the-line advertising & experiential programs. Evaluate operating models within GABM and enable solutions to improve alignment, transparency, and decision making.

  • Operations : Provide support to operating plans to bring activations to market (e.g., phases, timing, milestones, stakeholders, risks). Develop best in class system for tracking and monitoring highly visible, complex campaigns and own the toolkit to create more efficient collaboration and coordination.

  • Stakeholder communications : Support steering committees, internal communication forums, and pipeline for strategic plans. Promote development of strategic objectives and associated metrics to allow a strategic view of organizational progress and build rapport with all levels.

  • Enablement : Support enablement of annual brand programs and help build a pipeline for experimentation (e.g. test & learn, claims management, content management, Member Week). Manage multiple projects and competing priorities leveraging project management experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong planning and organization with ability to lead highly interdependent, complex initiatives and keep various workstreams on track.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to influence and effectively story-tell needs, plans and strategies to drive alignment across teams on common goals.

  • Diverse marketing and/or operations skillset with expertise building and executing plans from the ground up, including analytics, research, segmentation, creative, data, capabilities, and measurement.

  • Comfort with white space and identifying the data, competitive, and financial insights needed to forge a path forward.

  • Demonstrated thought leadership and the ability to think big picture, but dive into details to execute the big picture and drive measurable results.

  • Ambition to make an impact in a fast-moving, multifaceted, growth environment and operate fluidly between strategy and execution to deliver flawlessly.

  • Passion and interest in Advertising and/or Brand Management, evaluating the external marketplace, and designing customer-first strategies.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually bonus benefits
